Whether you're in the mood to catch a wave on the world celebrated 'Soup Bowl' along the East Coast, explore the amazing coral reefs in the West or explore the many historical and picturesque sites above or below the land, Barbados definitely packs a lot of punch for it's relatively small size.

This island is best for lovers but not just the honeymooners. It attracts lovers of hiking, diving and boating to its shores for unique experiences you can't wait to get home and share. Climb the peak of Mt. Scenery or take it down to Saba Marine Park or do both! The island is uncrowded and there will be plenty of room and opportunity to put both experiences on the itinerary.

Though it's generally overshadowed by its big sister, Trinidad, Tobago has a big reputation for scuba diving, snorkeling at Nylon Pool, hiking trails that include a rainforest and mountain lake and much more that allows the island to distinguish itself as a prime vacation destination in its own right.

Described as an "adventurer's haven", this island off Puerto Rico offers gorgeous reefs and marine life that demand your experience. Bio Bay being one of the most noted marine attractions that will allow you your own special 'Life of Pi' moment. Other must-do actiivites include mountain biking, the Vieques National Wildlife Refuge and kayak fly fishing.

This spot offers some the most interactive underwater diving experiences and on either side you also have Hol Chan Marine Reserve and Shark Ray Ally, which are perfect for snorkeling. This island is a good start point for manatee excursions. If you prefer to stay on land, you can explore the Belize's mainland jungle for a taste of the Mayan culture.

This low-key island in the south of the Caribbean archipelago has managed to preserve its natural beauty amidst its increase in popularity. Bonaire is known for great diving experiences, which can be had from shore in many areas, and the Washington Slagbaai National Park where hiking, biking, rock climbing and rappelling adventures can be arranged. With 400 underground caves to explore, over 200 species of birds and an ocean full of unique tropical life there should never be a dull moment.
3. Dominica

Easily one of the Caribbean's most unspoiled destinations, Dominica offers much to the adventure traveller that isn't afraid to get a little rustic while on vacation. Hiking is very popular on the island where some of the sights include waterfalls, a "boiling" lake, hot springs and tropical forest reserve. The 115-mile Waitukubuli National Trail is divided in segments according to difficulty but the entire trail circumnavigates the island. Several parts of the trail were damaged in a recent storm but it is now back open to travellers and is reportedly better than ever. Some other adventures in store are whale watching, diving and snorkeling.

Haiti in of itself is an adventure. It's dramatic natural views and rich culture only adds to the experience. The ascent to the towering Citadelle La Ferriere fortress is special experience as well as the path to the beautiful Bassin Bleu. Hey hikers! La Viste National Park is the place for you to sort out stretching those legs and make some memories.

The adrenaline junkies can suit up and climb those waterfalls and plunge into the rivers below or rappel down into underground caverns. Tamer adventure enthusiasts can enjoy the surf, zip line through the jungle, swim with humpback whales, tbe down the river or bike ride down a mountain. Need we go on?
